What is Ecommerce?
Ecommerce is the short form for “electronic commerce” which we can certainly call an online marketplace and the marketplace is actually called An Ecommerce Store. Exchange of any form of currency to goods ( products) online.
Ecommerce is a broad term that covers anything and everything that warrant you to buy buy or sell online, and can sometimes be written as “E Commerce,” “e-commerce,” or “eCommerce.” Any way it been spelt is correct, and it all describes the same act of performing business transaction as a marketplace (Store) via the internet.
Type of Ecommerce Business

Types of Products to sell
Every Ecommerce business can be classed by the types of products that it sells. There are four main products that any ecommerce business can sell and they are:
- Physical Products
- Digital Products
- Services
- Affiliates
Every Ecommerce business online can dive into one or more of these section, and basically this would just tell you the type of products they are selling to their customers.
1. Physical Products
An Ecommerce business could sell physical products which simply means that the business has real products that they can ship to their customers, whereby when the products get to their customers through shipping package it could be felt, see and touch because is a physical product. In short Physical products are products that can be felt, seen and touch.
2. Digital Products
Digital products is the opposite of physical product, an Ecommerce businesses (Store) can also sell a product but they’re not an actual physical product that can be shipped or move to their customers. A digital product is a purchased online product that a customer can download it (the digital files/downloadable contents) straight away without the need for the business to actually ship anything to the customer. In summary digital products are downloadable files that can be sold online. i.e. eBooks, Software and so on.
3. Services
Businesses online can also sell digital or in-person services that their customers can purchase online. These services can include anything if as much is a service been rendered from design services or streaming services (both are digital services) to home improvement services or dog-walking services (which are in-person services).
