AFFILIATE MARKETING

This is a process of making money by promoting other peoples products or services. In the process of promoting the person promoting the product is called an affiliate, an affiliate receive a commission whenever the product is purchased. These products are specifically developed, created or built to solve the end user problem.

There are three people involve in affiliate marketing;

1. The Merchant

2. The Promoter (Affiliate)

3. The End User ( Final Consumer)

THE MERCHANT

The Merchant is the owner of the product. Simply means the creator, the builder or the developer of the product, this product could be a digital product i.e. download items online e.g. Software, eBooks, online courses and so on. Also it could be a physical product what can be seen touched. All these products or could be service also are called OFFER. So the Affiliate promote the Offer to the end user.

THE PROMOTER (AFFILIATE)

The Affiliate is preacher of the product simply means the promoter of the product. The Promoter Uses many ways to find end user which are the consumers to purchase the product in other for him have his commission upon sale, action or lead depending on the type of offer. The affiliate uses all sort of method to bring customer to the product.

END USERS (CONSUMERS)

The End User which are final consumer like we know, the people that needs the product or service to solve their problem. 

TYPES OF INCOME/COMMISSION IN AFFILIATE MARKETING

In affiliate marketing there are two type of income in which an affiliate could be entitled to namely;

1. One time commission

2. Recurring commission

ONE TIME COMMISSION

This is a kind of commission whereby affiliate are paid once when a purchase is made .

For Instance GetResponse Have two type of Affiliate program they run for affiliate.

the first one is a one time commission whereby if an end user purchases a product even at it lowest cost the affiliate receive a commission of $100 at Once for that Purchase. After that until another purchase is made through the affiliate link by another end user.

RECURRING COMMISSION

This is the type of commission whereby commission are paid to affiliate depending on how the end user stays on the program or service. And it is percentage based.

E.g. GetResponse  Also Pays affiliate that chooses the other affiliate program which is recurring in which affiliate would be 33% of the plan the end user buys and as long as the end user remain on than plan or stays on the program or step up to another level, the affiliate keeps receiving commission monthly, because the end user is still on the program. it keeps coming in.

We have many categories affiliate marketing fall into;

1. Cost-Per-Sale

2. Cost-Per-Action

3. Cost-Per-Lead

and so many on.

COST-PER-SALE

This type of affiliate marketing in which affiliate are paid commission when the end users purchase the product. Some affiliate are paid based on percentage when a purchase occur either 60% or less than is being paid to the affiliate while some merchant pay just a certain amount to the affiliate.

e.g. GetResponse An Email Marketing software that pays affiliate whenever an end user purchase the least service that cost $15.

Most offers you could see as high ticket most are mostly Cost-per-sale offers, high ticket meaning with high commission.

Cost-per-sale offer maybe the hardest to earn commission but the most high paying offers are cost-per-sale offers.

COST-PER-ACTION

For the affiliate to be paid the end user is required to take some action or do some certain thing in order for the affiliate to be paid. They are many actions according;

Pay-Per-Download: the end user is required to download a specific item in other for the affiliate to be paid.

Pay-Per-Install: the end user is require to install a software before the affiliate could be paid.

Pay-Per-Trial: the affiliate is paid when the end user go on a trial version.

And so on 

COST-PER-LEAD

This the simplest yet still involved lots of strategy, in this part end user are asked for their vital information after them dropping it thus the affiliate are paid. In simple term the affiliate get paid when the end user drop all vital information in which he/she can be contacted by the merchant then the affiliate is paid.
